My last post was very negative considering it was titled The Classy Art of Getting Screwed Over, but hey - that's life.
Today it's good news:
1. We made it to our final destination! We actually arrived Wednesday night, safe and sound. It was pretty adventurous, to say the least! The gravel road was in fact a giant mud trench, and poor Joanne (bless her heart... err, engine) managed to pull us through what we thought was one of the strangest places on Earth. Luckily, in the most difficult stretch of the trip we had a friend accompany us who knew the way very well. Also might I add, the two most rough ferry crossings I've experienced.
2. On Thursday I got my butt in gear (actually Tim got my butt in gear, I wanted to sleep) and passed out resumes in a nearby mall. I think it's safe to say about half of the stores had signs up looking for new employees. In Wal-Mart, when I passed in my resume a worker got me to fill out an application and actually phoned the manager's office to see if I could get an interview right away! Unfortunately the manager wasn't there, but hopefully I'll get a call soon!
3. The dream summer job that has provoked me to tag along with Tim is actually doing a second hiring for mid June (which is why I'm looking at places like Wal-Mart) and has already contacted me to keep an eye on my emails! This is great news! They pay like $17/hr!!!
4. Finally, and perhaps the best news. I subletted my room. (pause for confetti, streamers, and horns) Yep! There was a guy who wanted out of his place ASAP. And well, I wanted someone in my room ASAP.
There ya have it! Oh, happy day!
You're welcome :)
